Keanu Reeves Motorcycle Squarespace Ad: ZAMM Literary Reference?

Making the YT pre-roll rounds lately has been a Squarespace ad, “Should You Make A Website? Here’s Why Keanu Reeves Did.” The ad stars KR as a motorcyclist debating with himself about whether to create a motorcycling website for a motorcycle building business.

As an English major, what immediately leapt to mind was the novel, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, which is about the narrator who is making a lengthy journey by motorcycle, and refers to another person named Phaedrus, who is revealed to actually be himself in the past, with whom he must reconcile. In a way, the himself character Reeves is playing, is reconciling with his own thoughts whether to build a website, rather than over what constitutes quality creative writing as in the novel (or perhaps what constitutes quality of a commercial), but as corny as that link may be, I think it comes off pretty cleverly, if that were its intention..
