Levitical Adherence Challenge
As a self-imposed experiment, I wanted to document each chapter of the judeochristian levitical laws, and scrutinize how difficult it would be for me to alter my daily patterns to line up with them, over time.
- Rules:
- chapters will be observed as portrayed in the NASB, NKJV, NIV, and ESV.
- One wiki sub-page per applicable chapter, broken up into a few verses at a time for ease of at-a-glance consumption.
- Difficulty-of-adherence ratings per verse, with adjustments to said rating as encountering unrealized affected situations.
- Goal of full implementation by end of February 2026, giving me enough time to cut/paste them out into wiki tables.
- Rating of either 1-5, with 5 being of easiest to integrate into my daily living, and an optional N/A/i rating for inapplicability/impossible, with elaboration on why it would not apply or otherwise be impossible to fulfill.
With success of this series, I may move on to Deuteronomy, etc.
Leviticus
Leviticus Chapter 1 - (NASB, NKJV, NIV, ESV) - Nuanced procedures for burnt animal offerings.
| Ease of Adherence Rating: | N / A / i |
|---|
All matters carry the inapplicability rating, due to lack of access to resources required: I have no Moses, nor Aaron, nor sons of Aaron, nor tabernacle, nor altar for burning, nor knowledge of choicest, finest, unblemished skillsets keen to those who raise cattle, as in my daily living and local infrastructure carries with it no access to relevant subjects or creatures.
Leviticus Chapter 2 (NASB, NKJV, NIV, ESV) - Nuanced procedures for burnt grain offerings.
| Ease of Adherence Rating: | N / A / i |
|---|
All matters carry the inapplicability rating, due to lack of access to resources required: I have no Moses, nor Aaron, nor sons of Aaron, nor tabernacle, nor altar for burning, nor knowledge of choicest, finest, unblemished skillsets keen to those who grow/mill grains, as in my daily living carries with it no access to such things. I am blessed with some small swath of land upon which grains could be grown, but there are no milling options, and much less no priesthood to give them to.
Leviticus Chapter 3 (minus verse 17) (NASB, NKJV, NIV, ESV) - Nuanced procedures for animal sacrifice for peach offerings (with exception of 3:17).
| Ease of Adherence Rating: | N / A / i |
|---|
