Subjects Wondered
This is a fairly non-sequitur list of subjects I wondered about and went down varying depths of rabbit holes to learn about or suffice to answer. Sources are not cited; these are mainly for me to read back for myself, with an explanation that settled the depth of my interest.

| Can a person gain more body weight from a consumed substance, than the actual physical weight of the substance pre-consumption? | The answer is more along the lines of how-quickly a person can excrete or otherwise expend the substance. Water, for example, can be expelled quickly but has little caloric value despite being somewhat heavy/dense, often in perhaps 30 minutes. The ounce-weight of a 400-calorie fried pie may take longer to expel the caloric measure, as it must go through different and potentially slower processes to expel, such as burning 400 calories worth. Some non-water substances you consume could delay the release of the water consumed, making you keep 'water weight' longer. |
| What was actually the subject of Theo's rap, regarding the “countrymen, let me hold your ear” from the Cosby show? I saw a Mini-Cooper on the road that was a “Countryman” model, and was reminded of the Cosby Show “rap” that Theo and a pal performed in the living room before the gathered family, to practice reciting it for a class. I loosely remembered the quote “Friends, Romans, Countrymen: lend me your ears” but could not recall much else from the rap aside from “haven't come to bite, but see I came to bark”, “call me Marc”, and “Julius C” from the blurriness of memory. | Here is the clip. The topic is a restatement of Mark Antony's lines according to the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar, in which Mark attempts to alter public perception of Caesar's greed for the fact he turned down the crown, and 'Romanized' the world by building up civilization, but at the same time sarcastically not being opposed to Julius' death exactly, but that the reason the killers gave for their successful assassination don't make real sense. |
