Wait Wait NPR+ Questions
I have it in my brain, that I would like to appear on an NPR show, which is reserved and features strictly people who use NPR+, an donation incentive feed of certain NPR podcasts (namely, Wait Wait Dont Tell Me) and is distributed only to people who have donated and have access to such a feed, which I do. The rules are far more lax than the actual show call-in restrictions, and to me seems a bit more fun and relaxed, that might be suitable for me to do.
In some of the banter between producer, host, and listener, I have heard several listeners get a chance to have questions answered, and I have been dying to know the answers to a few Wait Wait Dont Tell Me questions I have about the show. As a way for me to remember them:
| Q# | Question |
|---|---|
| 1 | Was Henry Winker upset with WWDTM for making all of the multiple choice answers be A, so that he pressured into doing the “Ayyyyyy” thing Fonzie does, because it sure seemed like he was just NOT having it. There was another appearance he had where none of the answers were A, and I was sadface about it. Can there not be a third where the show and Henry Winkler redeems their honor? |
| 2 | A lot of the news trivia questions include hints about what the answer could be, and I am curious if all of the questions asked have pre-written hints, or whether the hints are entirely extemporaneous. Some of the hints seem like they are read at Peter's usual reading-aloud pacing, and some of them are pretty funny on their own; is there any chance a bonus feature for NPR+ could be made for a reveal of some of those hints that never got used, or are they lost to the ether? |
